Totally Livable Space

Pros

Location is excellent, building has great amenities. Had a totally fine two years living here overall.

Cons

The primary reason we're moving is that we're in a first-floor, street-facing apartment and the building has totally refused to put any proper security bars up. We've never had a real problem, but a month or so ago someone came by trying to shine a flashlight through our blinds(we're all fine, there was no attempted break-in to our apartment[though the building gets broken into on a regular basis! send any valuable packages to your workplace, we've definitely lost stuff]) and we just can't live like that. We also briefly had a mouse problem, but we found its point of entry and blocked it off with steel wool and haven't seen anything since then-- but this solution was totally self-driven, the super only provided glue traps for us. Louie the Super has a wide variance in responsiveness, as you'll see in the other reviews, but he generally comes through eventually and he responds well to a positive attitude and tips.

Advice to the owners

Hate to say it but invest in better security for your building!! Security bars on the first floor windows should be a minimum.

We liked living here

Pros

- Beautiful building - Newly renovated apartment

Cons

- Super locked basement (laundry and trash can access) from 9pm-9am, except for the many times he didn't unlock it until noon - Poor natural lighting - Downstairs neighbors played loud music all through the night

Advice to the owners

Ensure the super opens the basement on time--access to the trash cans is a hygiene issue!
