Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Reviews for properties managed by Peter Giaimo indicate significant concerns regarding management and building maintenance. Tenants report frequent issues with cleanliness, as common areas are often neglected, leading to sanitation problems. The owner has been described as unresponsive and rude, discouraging tenants from voicing concerns. Some positive feedback highlights the good location and decent neighbors, but others express distress over pervasive pest issues and lengthy delays in essential repairs. Although certain apartments offer good water pressure and heating, the overall sentiment suggests that potential renters should be cautious and expect a lack of effective management.

Owners Dont Care

Pros

Layout of apartments are pretty good. Large bedrooms and decent light.

Cons

Hallways are dirty and rarely cleaned. Stairs are starting to fall apart. Front door to building has been broken for 2 months with no way to buzz people or deliveries into the building. Management give the run-around on updates with no end in sight. Fixes and repairs to building are as cheap as possible and barely effective. Water leaks and warped floors. Trash area in the back is a disaster of filth. All of this while they raise the rent. They want all the money without maintaining their building.

Advice to the owners

Invest in maintaining the property instead of only increasing rents. Prioritize basic building maintenance by repairing the front entry system, keeping common areas clean, addressing water damage properly, and making lasting repairs instead of temporary patches. Be transparent with tenants about repair timelines and follow through on commitments. A well-maintained building and honest communication go a long way toward retaining good tenants.

No stove gas for 4 months

Pros

Management was easily accessible, decent location.

Cons

Gas was shut off for 4 months, and they did not fix it because the basement had asbestos. Joseph G, the owner is a bully if you raise any concerns. He will try to intimidate you.
