From the repeated lack of response from the landlord, Vincent, when serious and potentially dangerous situations occur, to the continued disregard of major maintenance issues, this situation has gone far beyond an ordinary landlord-tenant disagreement. There have been ongoing complaints about serious problems within the apartment, including mold. Instead of properly addressing and correcting the underlying issue, the affected areas were simply painted over. That is not a solution to a potentially serious health and safety concern. Most recently, after repeatedly complaining about the flooding problem for years, I woke up at approximately 5:00 in the morning to find my entire apartment flooded. This is unacceptable and could have resulted in significant damage to my belongings and created an unsafe living environment. What makes this even more frustrating is that despite years of complaints and unresolved problems, the rent continues to increase while the condition and responsiveness regarding the apartment remain unacceptable. Someone needs to be held accountable for this. Tenants should not have to repeatedly report dangerous conditions, receive little to no response, and then suffer the consequences of problems that could have been addressed before they became emergencies. I am requesting that these issues be taken seriously, properly investigated, and permanently corrected—not temporarily covered up or ignored. I will also be documenting the conditions, previous complaints, flooding, property damage, and all communication regarding these issues.
