12-15 Broadway Management About a month ago, me and my wife noticed a mouse run through our apartment. We immediately notified the building and were told "best we can do is give you traps" I called 311 to notify them of the situation and only after hearing from 311 did the building agree to send an exterminator. The exterminator identified substantial mouse droppings, a nest and multiple holes. Said "this should be treated as an emergency and that we need a coordinated effort with the building to catch the mouse and patch the holes" The building has straight up refused to patch the holes and has decided to stop answering my emails and calls. This is against the law (local law 55). This is all even more disturbing as we have a baby girl at home. The building was already caught stealing millions of dollars from its tenants a few years back so I guess this is just par for the course. After handling the mouse situation myself, HPD came to inspect my apartment and found that my windows needed window guards and issued the building a violation to install. John Arukyan (the building manager) set up a date for installation and then no showed once again, after me and my wife both took off work to be available. He shows up the next day and says I have the right to refuse the installation and gives me a form to sign. Several weeks later he sends me a follow up stating it's against the law to refuse and that it needs to be done that day. I respond "if yu were mistaken in giving us the right to refusal and it's against the law to refuse, then by all means go right ahead. But you can't give us zero notice on this and today would be impossible and on the building, not us." He replies that he'll be reporting us to Child Protective Services and issuing the violations to our rent if we don't drop what we're doing and have the window rails installed that very day. I already know this is illegal and harassment and have contacted a lawyer and other agencies, but just wanted to update this post to show the full disgusting scale of this property in case anyone was thinking of renting or buying from here.
