Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for buildings managed by Jacob Schwimmer reveals a mix of newer properties with modern amenities but plagued by serious management shortcomings. While several praise the location, rent stabilization, and building features like rooftop views and gyms, common grievances surface around poor responsiveness, pest infestations—especially rats and flies—maintenance delays, and cleanliness issues including garbage overflow. Tenants frequently report a lack of communication during emergencies and lease transitions, unaddressed flooding, and hazardous conditions from ignored repairs. Despite some positive remarks on timely fixes and well-maintained amenities in certain units, overall management is viewed as neglectful, lacking empathy, and often reactive rather than proactive in resolving tenant concerns.

Reviews

Good on paper

Pros

- Rent stabilized - Modern finishes - Laundry in building - Rooftop views

Cons

Management is genuinely the worst, hard to get a hold of, not responsive to tenants needs. I have neighbors who have had no power for months, people went without heat and hot water in the winter, chewed up internet cables so WiFi regularly cuts out. Pest control could be better for apartments on the 1st floor. Front of building is regularly trashed/garbage overflowing and management drags feet until fined by the city. Its nice on paper but lacking in a lot

Advice to the owners

Care about your tenants more, just because its rent stabilized doesn’t give you a pass to neglect the building

Long term tenant

Pros

Nothing comes to mind. Proximity to the park and subways.

Cons

Sometimes mail is dropped off at the lobby which can sometimes get stolen, and the surrounding area can be loud on the weekends. Management didn’t notify when elevator is out and slow to respond to issues within the building. They also took almost a year to fix leakage in the building.

Advice to the owners

Do better.
