Meets the necessities

Pros

Management has been responsive. The building is handicap accessible and there is in building laundry

Cons

The building has an issue with roaches and Waterbugs in the basement via the laundry room drainage pipe. Thankfully, Management has been responsive to complaints about it. The recycling goes in the basement and the garbage goes outside and that serves an unnecessary hassle since they go to different places. I requested windowguards in my apartment at move in which, nearly a year later, were never installed. Repair requests have gone unanswered unless they posed an immediate threat to the property (like water damage). When it came time to move out, management was not responsive to requests for the security deposit. It took over a month to get the deposit back, which is against the law in NYC. And then when it was returned, deductions were made -- which in NYC must happen within 14 days of move-out using an itemized charge list which gives the tenant time to either agree to the charges or fix it themselves. Taking from the deposit weeks after the fact, without an itemized charge list, and without providing opportunity to get fixed is against the law.

Advice to the owners

It may be useful to streamline garbage management. The recycling goes in the basement and the garbage goes outside and that serves an unnecessary hassle.
