Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants of buildings managed by Jeremy Solomon report a mixed experience with notable challenges in cleanliness and garbage management, often citing inadequate maintenance of common areas and pest issues. Residents appreciate the sound insulation and generally friendly neighbors but express concern over smoking violations and persistent building problems like leaks and mold. The superintendent is praised for effort but considered overburdened, with calls for additional support and professionalism. Owner responsiveness is frequently described as slow or lacking, leading to tenant dissatisfaction. While some renters recommend staying, many urge management to enforce policies and invest in better building upkeep for an improved living environment.

Updated review - things are getting better

Pros

Excellent sound insulation - I rarely ever heard anyone when I was inside my apartment. The super is also pleasant and doing his best (he needs more support, there’s too much work for one person to manage). Lots of windows and good light. Rarely ever saw a bug in my apartment (though have heard about problems in others). Many of the tenants in the building are really lovely people, and you can definitely feel a sense of community if you’re there long enough.

Cons

The common areas aren’t cleaned regularly enough. Other tenants occasionally smoke in the hallways and elevator. One side of the building regularly suffers from leaks (this has been going on for years). If you look in the cracks around doorframes, you’ll definitely find mold (though we’ve never felt sick from it). Paint is regularly used as a “solution” for problems that require more intensive work. The elevator is always in shambles (chipping paint, filthy floor).

Advice to the owners

Invest in help for the super. This could be a really lovely building if more hands were working on it.

Constantly filled with smoke

Pros

Neighbors are generally friendly. Noise is never a problem.

Cons

A group of men chain-smokes pretty much every afternoon/evening now, and the smoke fills all of the apartments on that floor and above. Residents are complaining to the super and nothing is being done about it. There are children and elderly folks who live in this building. It's shameful.

Advice to the owners

Enforce the no-smoking policy.
