Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews of buildings managed by Edward Rabin reflect a mix of well-maintained properties with responsive management and some areas needing improvement. Tenants appreciate clean buildings, effective garbage removal, and prompt owner responsiveness, especially at well-renovated locations with friendly superintendents nearby. However, some apartments suffer from maintenance delays, outdated fixtures, occasional heating discomfort, and pest issues. Noise levels are generally manageable with good neighbors in most buildings, though tenant screening could be improved in certain cases. Advice frequently includes better upkeep of common areas, timely repairs, and enhanced laundry room maintenance to elevate the tenant experience overall.

Good place to live

Pros

- Haven't had a pest problem in any of my 11 months here - Trash is removed regularly - Good appliances, recently renovated - Superintendent is friendly, responsive, and lives very close by - Nice neighborhood, close to the F/G but not loud at all - Buzzer system is old but works pretty well - Rent-stabilized

Cons

- Washers/dryers in shared laundry room sometimes don't work (one of the washers got clogged and overflowed once) - Radiator warms up the place quickly, but hard to reduce the heat—some winter days end up stiflingly hot - Not a great deal of natural light for the price. Bedroom has one small courtyard-facing window, and the living room windows are all west-facing and get easily obscured by neighboring buildings

Advice to the owners

Regularly check the washers/dryers
