Great until its not building

Pros

great location, laundry in basement, good size rooms and living spaces.

Cons

management was shady, problems with maintenance of building, lived here for 4 years, loved it when it was running smoothly, but ever so often there would be an infestation of something, roaches/mice. Once you found the issue it was okay. Location is great and block has a neighborhood vibe. first 3 years here the maintenance was awful, very dirty lobby and trash management. Roaches (only really one at a time every few months and dead at least) would stay in the lobby for days, clearly not being cleaned. Up until last year when they hired a new maintenance guy are i have now relied on him and he is fantastic!

Advice to the owners

Upgrade the laundry machines- run down and you have to run them multiple times to get your clothes dry even if its a normal size load. Packages get stolen all the time- need better security.

Landlord negligence to the point of safety issues

Landlord is negligent to the point that it is a serious safety concern. I live in the basement and have FILMED a homeless person living in the basement outdoor area at night on my ring camera; I have called landlord multiple times to ask them to simply change the lock on the gate (which is 8 ft tall, so the homeless person must have a key) and they hang up on me. Plan is to stay up tonight until the homeless person shows up and then call the police. Taking landlord to court to fix the lock. Multiple other serious issues with rats and trash in the 9 months I have lived here. By far the worst and most negligent people I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

Advice to the owners

Find a new job and quit endangering your tenants through laziness.
