Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for buildings managed by Eli Fisher presents a mixed picture. While some appreciate the spacious apartments, kind maintenance staff, and timely responses for urgent repairs, many highlight significant issues with unresponsiveness, especially for non-urgent matters. Common complaints include poor heating systems, frequent pest problems, noise due to thin walls, and outdated or broken appliances left unrepaired. Garbage management and water pressure tend to receive better scores, yet the overall property upkeep often falls short of expectations. Rent increases and lease terms sometimes cause dissatisfaction, suggesting management could benefit from improved communication, timely maintenance, and enhanced building infrastructure.

Decent but good be better

Pros

Response for repairs management deems urgent

Cons

The heating can be super expensive since it’s electric, this leads to having the tolerate colder winters— even indoors

Unresponsive landlords. Don’t live here

Pros

Huge spacious apartments. Dishwasher and laundry in apartment, but landlord claims no responsibility despite it saying they are provided in the lease.

Cons

The landlord does the bare minimum to maintain the apartment. Everything is very old and improperly architected to sustain any sort of longevity. The oven has been broken for a month despite only needing a simple fix. The microwave is dangerous and falling apart, literally pieces fall onto the stove every time we open it. They spent 3 weeks replacing a hazardous HVAC system only to realize that the building’s ventilation can’t support the new system. It turns on and off unpredictably and the climate in the apartment is very hot, then very cold. Great investment!

Advice to the owners

Fix the appliances and keep a liveable apartment. Don’t act ignorant and petty when tenants reasonably expect a liveable home.
