Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant reviews of buildings managed by Alan Luke reveal a mixed management experience. Positive aspects include responsive landlord communication, convenient locations, well-maintained amenities, frequent garbage pickup, and quiet, friendly neighbors in some units. However, recurring issues linger with inconsistent cleanliness, occasional pest problems, poor garbage management in some areas, subpar water pressure, outdated appliances, and noise disturbances from nearby venues. Several tenants noted dissatisfaction with heating systems and security concerns. While some praise the quiet and comfort, others report neglect and unresponsiveness, indicating variability across units. Prospective renters should expect some maintenance challenges but often find responsive management when issues arise.

102 Bayard back building

Pros

It was conveniently located in Chinatown and close to the 6 subway line. Rent price was great. Landlord was responsive.

Cons

There were some noise from close by bars. Cleanliness wasn’t of the highest standard. Stairwells were narrow for moving furniture.

Solid Chinatown home

Pros

Apartment was nice, didn’t have too many problems there. Location is super nice and the noise levels were low.

Cons

The radiator in my room would blow steam. Also one neighbor had a crazy smell coming from their apartment during the summer months
