Pros:
Good location. That's about it.
Cons:
We had an awful experience with this building. Neighbors were loud, walls were thin, laundry area in the basement was dirty and often had dead mice, rats, and/or cockroaches rotting, we had mice in the apartment and we could hear them living and chirping in the walls...but none of that was the worst part. Worst part is that we had major roof leaks that eventually forced us to move out completely. It started in one room and quickly spread to all other bedrooms, the living room, and even the bathroom. At one point it was leaking through the vent in the bathroom above the toilet, so if you went to use the toilet you would get dripped on. Management was slow to respond and kept saying they've fixed the problem, but the next time it rained, the issue only got worse. Management was rude and hard to deal with and kept telling us they are "trying their best" when the apartment continued to be in unlivable condition. I had to sleep with a bucket by my bed listening to water dripping into it all night. By the end the apartment was in undeniably unlivable condition and the landlord refused to let us break the lease. All the intense fighting over emails and calls with management over this issue and considering litigation disrupted my job and personal life, gave me headaches and, honestly, was just traumatizing. No one should be fighting for a home that is simply LIVABLE. This apartment was my "first apartment in NYC" horror story. Do not move here.
Advice to owner:
actually fix problems, dont just put band aids. hire nicer human beings. hire cleaners for the building. care even just a little bit about your tenants.
