Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant reviews for buildings managed by Yon Lef reveal a mixed but often challenging living experience, especially in rent-stabilized properties. Pros include affordable rents, spacious units, and some responsiveness from management when addressing issues like pests. However, many residents report persistent problems such as poor cleanliness, inadequate garbage management, pest infestations, and inconsistent heating. Noise levels and problematic neighbors frequently contribute to dissatisfaction. Management's responsiveness is seen as slow or insufficient in several cases, and maintenance feels minimal with ongoing neglect of infrastructure needs. While some buildings offer a safe, familiar community, overall resident approval is low, signaling the need for improvements in upkeep and tenant communication.

Now I know why it’s rent controlled

Pros

Cheap rent, big space, gut renovated, utilities are included

Cons

Loudest fucking neighbors that blast music so loud it rattles the entire building, stomping above, kids screaming in the hallways. The tenants definitely keep the place rent controlled, and property management is not responsive. No central AC, the water takes forever to get hot and doesn’t last long

Pretty good place

Pros

Smaller building, nice neighbors, pretty safe, no stolen packages, water pressure always good, management responsive when needed.

Cons

Gets too hot in the winter. Sometimes too cold in the winter. Gets too hot in the summer. We had roaches once. And mice once. But management took care of it quickly, which was good.
