Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants of buildings managed by Philip Meoli generally find the properties clean, quiet, and well-maintained with good pest control and water pressure. Residents appreciate responsive management at some locations, particularly in Brooklyn, citing quick fixes and attentive superintendents. However, communication can be challenging, with some renters describing management as minimally engaged or slow to address concerns, especially regarding heating controls and rent increases. Amenities vary, with some sites lacking laundry or dishwashers. Overall, the buildings offer a stable living environment, especially in quieter neighborhoods, though renters should anticipate potential yearly rent hikes and possible infrastructure upgrades over time.

6 Years at 450 7th Ave

Pros

The layout of the apt is exceptional and allows for 3 people to co-habitate

Cons

Management is often difficult to communicate with and really does only the bare minimum possible effort. They justified a rent increase by saying they had upgrades planned for the "common area" and then just put a poster up with a bunch of weird legal notices. It's a good place to live but I would be prepared to have rent raised $200+ every year for shitty mgmt services.

Former tenant·6 months ago

great location, fine apartment

Pros

Located on 7th ave which is good mix of residential and commercial, but on the quieter side of the street. Great restaurants, laundry, grocery, bar options in Park Slope.

Cons

Thermostat for heat control is located in 1st floor tenant space and controls the whole building. Apartment does not have dishwasher or laundry in building or unit.

Advice to the owners

please put a lock box on thermostat so that upstairs tenants do freeze on whim of 1st floor lowering heat.
