Reviews

It’s Fine but Not Great
Former Tenant
Pros:
Laundry in basement
Cons:
Management not responsive at all (c) openigloo even when major issue such (c) openigloo as cockroach infestation or no (c) openigloo hear
Advice to owner:
Be more responsive
Not worth the money
Former Tenant
Pros:
Close to the Q Super is (c) openigloo very nice
Cons:
Landlord is not responsive Heat (c) openigloo constantly failed during the winter, (c) openigloo especially the coldest weekends Hot water (c) openigloo constantly ran out Rats in the (c) openigloo basement When it rained, the ceiling (c) openigloo in the lobby area would (c) openigloo leak At one point during a (c) openigloo heavy rain there was water (c) openigloo cascading down the stairwell and (c) openigloo the fire department had to (c) openigloo be called because the building (c) openigloo management was unresponsive
Love location, building, super and doormen, but management not great
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location Rooftop Renovated unit Doormen and super are (c) openigloo the best
Cons:
AC just in bedrooms, so (c) openigloo the airflow and air is (c) openigloo very stuffy Management not great with (c) openigloo communication and responsiveness
Good apartment for a college student with rich parents
Former Tenant
Pros:
The best parts about this (c) openigloo building are the location and (c) openigloo the wonderful doormen staff. (c) openigloo You cant beat the location (c) openigloo being in the heart of (c) openigloo the Village, and all of (c) openigloo the doormen are wonder and (c) openigloo very kind people.
Cons:
The cons are that majority (c) openigloo of the current tenants are (c) openigloo 20-22 year old students who (c) openigloo are somehow able to pay (c) openigloo the ridiculous rent costs these (c) openigloo days. Parties take place (c) openigloo every weekend, and the walls (c) openigloo are very thin, so you (c) openigloo can hear music and noise (c) openigloo quite easily all hours of (c) openigloo the night. The noise (c) openigloo is not well regulated. (c) openigloo The hallways also reek of (c) openigloo marijuana smoke during these times, (c) openigloo and the smell can even (c) openigloo come into the individual units. Ever (c) openigloo since the pandemic, this building (c) openigloo jacked up rent costs well (c) openigloo over 100% of what previous (c) openigloo tenants were paying. All (c) openigloo of the old-timer residents have (c) openigloo since moved out (besides the (c) openigloo few who are rent-controlled), and (c) openigloo the incoming tenants are just (c) openigloo kids who treat the building (c) openigloo like a college dorm.
Great building in Lenox hill!
Former Tenant
Pros:
-clean -nice management and super -updated appliances
Cons:
-sometimes the streets get crazy (c) openigloo & busy because there is (c) openigloo a hospital and a school (c) openigloo right by
Advice to owner:
N/A
Decent building, no amenities, very loud and dirty area
Former Tenant
Pros:
New renovations look nice (though (c) openigloo are a bit cheap). Doormen (c) openigloo and staff are nice. Building (c) openigloo management responded to everything I (c) openigloo needed.
Cons:
Probably overpriced considering there are (c) openigloo zero amenities. Management isn’t forthcoming (c) openigloo about construction/renovation/etc
Great neighborhood to live in
Former Tenant
Pros:
It is in a great (c) openigloo neighborhood. Lots of groceries, pharmacies, (c) openigloo restaurants. It’s a block from (c) openigloo the Q train. Easy walk (c) openigloo to Central Park. Great neighborhood (c) openigloo for children as the school (c) openigloo district is desirable and St (c) openigloo Catherine’s park is large and (c) openigloo safe.
Cons:
Built in 1884. Old water (c) openigloo pipes, steep stairs that are (c) openigloo higher than usual stairs.
Advice to owner:
Garbage collection area needs to be redesigned. Too many mice and large rats. It also needs better lighting in that area.
NEW RENTERS: BEWARE OF OWNER
Former Tenant
Pros:
-renovations look nice, but are (c) openigloo meaningless with poor management.
Cons:
-new ownership using scare tactics (c) openigloo to force good tenants out (c) openigloo of the building -ROACHES -new owners irresponsible (c) openigloo with funds and refuse to (c) openigloo return deposits -hallways are a mess (c) openigloo and smell awful -trash area is (c) openigloo infested with all kinds of (c) openigloo rodents and is very dark (c) openigloo and scary to visit during (c) openigloo night. -rent increase over 100% -landlords (c) openigloo will not communicate via written (c) openigloo communication, instead would rather show (c) openigloo up at late hours of (c) openigloo the night and scare tenants (c) openigloo into moving out
Advice to owner:
Beware of many tenants taking legal action against you.
Solid bathrooms and kitchen, very limited temperature control
Former Tenant
Pros:
Newly redone bathrooms and kitchen
Cons:
With the small rooms and (c) openigloo heating poles, it would get (c) openigloo unbearably hot in the winter, (c) openigloo so I had to leave (c) openigloo my AC unit in year (c) openigloo round, which wasted a lot (c) openigloo of electricity. Also no washer/dryer (c) openigloo in the building.
Great for brief stay
Former Tenant
Pros:
Big apartments, large kitchens, powerful (c) openigloo AC.
Cons:
One elevator did not work (c) openigloo and there was constant maintenance.
Advice to owner:
Fix the elevator
