Old building with roaches
Former Tenant
Pros:
Trash are well cared for and clean, lobby alway clean
Cons:
Roaches in all the cracks, a couple of times visits from little mouses, building management takes FOREVER to reply and act on issues, never replaced the garbage door handle, lied there was a in building laundry but they never fixed it (it’s been more than 5 years)
Advice to owner:
Be more reactive when tenants contact you.

Decent but in disrepair
Former Tenant
Pros:
It’s a cute building and has the potential to be a wonderful place to live. The apartments are laid out spaciously and nicely, and everything, in theory, works. There’s a sense of community in the building and people look out for each other.
Cons:
The management does not take care of the space and does a terrible and lazy job with painting and renovating. It’s like they couldn’t care less. The super is incredibly unresponsive, like he doesn’t exist. It takes forever to get anything done, and usually things won’t get done unless you make calls to 311.
Advice to owner:
Invest more in your buildings and they’ll pay off more for you in the long term. Hire people who give a damn about caring for the space.

My First Apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
Garbage chutes on every floor, limiting having to go down to the basement every time I need to throw my garbage aside besides having to take the recyclable downstairs.
Cons:
People smoke in the hallways, Neighbors have no sense of consideration during the week (Loud Music, Arguing Loudly, Etc.)
