Trash building with horrible family management
Pros
Nice proximity to NYC iconic locations and the theater district
Cons
The building was frequently filthy, roach infested, and the block was filled with vagrants. The hallways smelled like pee all the time. It was like living in a shelter.. and the family that manages the property are crooks who pay the local homeless people and undocumented people to “clean and repair” the building. The hallways are rancid and never cleaned. They illegally convert rent controlled apartments and overcharge innocent renters, so beware. They treat people horribly, lie and are untrustworthy. They are exploiting the most vulnerable people paying them low wages and overcharging young kids looking to enjoyNew York cCity. Shame on them.
The builidng itself is okay but the building management team is the worst
Pros
close to Columbia University; the super is friendly
Cons
The building management team, Zada Real Estate Acquisitions & Management, is the worst. They never replied to my emails or phone calls while I was a tenant there. We always faced some kind of problem, such as no hot water, water leakage through the ceiling, pest infestations, etc. There was also year-long construction inside the building during my stay. It was a horrible place to live!
