Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants renting buildings managed by Mark Zweibon often praise the responsiveness and helpfulness of management and supers. Many highlight friendly neighbors and quiet, secure buildings with well-maintained apartments and convenient locations near public transit. However, some concerns include inconsistent cleanliness, occasional pest issues, noise from thin walls, and outdated common areas. Water pressure and heating vary across buildings, with some apartments reported as too hot or having loud radiators. Renters also note occasional maintenance delays and suggest improvements in cleanliness, pest control, and building upkeep. Overall, management involvement is valued, though certain properties could benefit from greater attention to infrastructure and communication transparency.

Great place to live!

Pros

Salon Realty was very responsive and took care of issues as they came up.

Cons

Super was great, but maintenance crew was often flakey. My apartment (top floor) was *really* hot all the time.

Best in NYC (7+ years here)

Pros

Management is extremely helpful, courteous, kind, and transparent. They are also VERY responsive, regardless of time of day especially for emergencies! Apartments are maintained well, new upgrades, and functional elevator. They accept large dogs. Huge plus! Location location location!! They just renovated and it’s looking really nice and updated/refreshed. Plenty of restaurants nearby/ Q train literally a two minute walk. 4/5/6 trains are a five minute walk. Secure building, always a plus especially when receiving packages. I’ve gotten to know many of the neighbors and we’ve created a sense of community within the complex. We look out for each other which is so rare in NYC.

Cons

Nothing really. The apartments are spacious and well maintained. The paint job inside the units is mediocre, but I assume you can (with permission) paint an accent wall if desired. The heating poles can be a bit overwhelming in the winter, but it’s a small price to pay for this complex!

Advice to the owners

Keep doing what you’re doing! The place is fantastic!
