Cute Nolita Spot
Pros
In the heart of Nolita, steps away from soho, les, Chinatown, little Italy, east village, and noho. One unit per floor, East and west facing windows for lots of sun exposure. Brick walls, roof has pretty views. Nice kitchen for Manhattan, and if in 2br the living space is also pretty big for Manhattan. Right above a wine store and near a corner store.
Cons
Very poor pest control. Had a mice and roach issue for entire year lease. Was never resolved. Hard to get a hold of landlord, you have to nag him to get anyone to tend to your apartment. It is VERY loud, surrounded by lots of restaurants and bars, thurs-sat night is the worst. I’ve been woken up to people throwing up at 3am. Have to run the ac all night to drown out the noise to avoid being woken up. Which I’m okay with because the heat in this building is insanely hot. Have to run the ac all summer AND winter long, leaving the windows open doesn’t work well because it seems like there is 0 air circulation. Can’t seem to get the apartment to cool down in the summer even with 2 ACs running. Nonetheless was planning on renewing lease if not for 20% monthly increase
Advice to the owners
Handle the pests, turn down the heat. Clean up hallways.
