The landlord WILL mercilessly raise your rent and force you you out, destroying your life. They only care about profit and would rather see you dead than be fair.

we had 4-5 rats in our first floor apartment that we complained about for multiple months - they sent a different exterminator each time who just looked and didn’t do anything. had to submit 311 compilations and then break the lease to get out of the infestation
