Good for students
Former Tenant
Pros:
It was a spacious apartment on the top floor of a two family home, with the landlady and family downstairs. The family downstairs is kind. The place was cheap, which is good for students, and has a good sized balcony outside one room. The landlady let us use her Netflix account. There were restaurants and a few bars nearby as well as a good few stores to buy produce. The block was typically quiet.
Cons:
As this is typically for students and J-1 interns there are a lot of comings and goings as your leases are all separate. Typically the landlady chose the roommates which could turn out to be an unhappy living situation. The landlady and family could be loud downstairs and the husband liked to take on difficult handiwork with little experience…at one point causing more damage to the toilet.
Advice to owner:
Call professionals instead of getting your husband to do it all.
