Amazing layout/gorgeous space - noisy noisy noisy street 24/7

Pros:
The size and layout of the units is very generous for a NYC rental! The kitchen sink was deep and wide and featured a pull out snake faucet. Appliances were full size and there is plenty of cabinet storage! Bathroom is spacious and easily accommodates 2 people. The natural light from the many windows makes it a great home for plant lovers! No pest issues.
Cons:
Rooms are vastly disproportionate. It is an old building so the facade leaks into the bedrooms when it rains heavily. The heat is supplied through a radiator that does not have a control knob accessible to the tenant. You cannot control how much heat is being pumped into your apartment so it is extremely hot in the winter. The apartment is also extremely loud. The street noise from both Smith St. and Atlantic Ave is hardly dampened by the walls/windows. You will hear everything happening on the street at any given time 24 hours a day. Additionally they are working on the new jail across the street and have been working through the the night with loud jackhammers, saws, and machinery. There is no break until around 4am and then traffic starts to get loud again at 6am.

Laundry room was well-equipped, gym was good, once they opened the roof we had a great view of Manhattan
Cons:
Setting up automatic payment was oddly difficult and didn't always work, and exiting the apartment it wasn't clear what was required of me.

Pros:
Very nice building. Clean, well-maintained, nice super. Great laundry room - super convenient to use with a designated app.
Cons:
Gym is a bit too small for the number of apts. and elevators take forever sometimes to arrive. There's a package closet, but all the returns are always at the entrance to building and it creates a huge mess.
Advice to owner:
Find a better solution for the packages - maybe just have one closet for returns and one for the incomings.

Wonderful building super who is very responsive and accommodating if you are a cooperative tenant. Clean and well maintained building.
Cons:
Occasional issues with heat, water, noisy neighbors, and package theft. Application process was lengthy because it’s an income restricted property, but rent is below market value and worth it.

Pros:
Used to be a clean neighborhood but things change.
Cons:
Worst building to live in, neighbors being too loud, playing loud music day and night, neighbors bothering me inside and outside the building. Random incidents happening around the neighborhood.
Advice to owner:
This building management is worse, I’ve lived here for twenty plus years. Elevator is out of service but it was fixed and then it got broken again. Also the ceiling from my bedroom needs to be fixed when I hear noise is because it started to leak. Plus the bathroom sink needs to be installed because it’s been sitting there for months.
