Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant feedback for buildings managed by Howard Alkoff reveals a mixed experience. Pros include family-friendly environments, pet tolerance, and some proactive staff with good locations. However, recurring issues with elevator reliability, poor management responsiveness, and inadequate maintenance are common complaints. Garbage disposal policies are restrictive, and pest control efforts are often insufficient. Tenants report noise problems and concerns about building cleanliness. Management is often perceived as unprofessional and sometimes biased or neglectful toward long-term residents. Improvements in repairs, professional maintenance, and better tenant relations would enhance living conditions, as current management struggles to consistently meet residents' basic needs.

Pros

Family Oriented Pet friendly In a great neighborhood

Cons

Owners and management company are not disability friendly Owner and management company have racial bias Elevator is always breaking down The apartments leak into each other They refuse to do repairs for older tenants You are unable to throw out more than 1 bag of garbage a day

Elevator is always broken

Pros

Neighbors are decent

Cons

Elevator is always broken, it breaks down at least once a month for multiple days. This building is not for elderly or the disable. And the building could be a bit cleaner.

Advice to the owners

Do better for your tenants, it’s ludicrous at how many things needs to be fixed but can’t be fixed
