Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant feedback for buildings managed by David Ogrin indicates serious management challenges, particularly pest control issues including rodents and cockroaches, which persist despite occasional exterminations. Cleanliness and garbage management are frequently criticized, with uncollected trash and dirty common areas reported. Heating and hot water problems, sometimes lasting months, severely impact living conditions in winter. Many renters find management unresponsive or slow to address complaints, with some reporting prolonged repair delays and structural concerns. Nonetheless, some apartments are spacious, well-located, and have quiet neighbors, which tenants appreciate. Overall, renters should expect ongoing maintenance struggles and inconsistent responsiveness from management.

Reviews

Rats, roaches, impossible to get anything fixed

Pros

At least at the time, not a bad price. Back of the building is quiet despite the street it's on

Cons

Horrible landlords, won't fix anything. Won't fix the mouse problem. Didn't have gas for 9 moths after a fire downstairs, they left holes in the walls which created a huge mouse problem. They refused to fill the holes.

Advice to the owners

Bad cockroach infestation

Pros

The building is cheap for lower manhattan

Cons

Terrible cockroach infestation, some tenants are currently living in squalor and the building is trying to evict them, the hallways are disgusting and never cleaned, the doors do not properly close, massive structural issues (cracks, holes)

Advice to the owners

Take this seriously and bring in contractors to fix the building and seal it
