Spacious, floor-through units in pre-war walkup

Pros

- Large units with open, flexible layouts - Interior/courtyard facing rooms are quiet with lots of natural light

Cons

- Unresponsive/unhelpful property management - Recurring pest/rodent problems in the summers - Staircase is falling apart - Unnecessary fees when paying through rental portal

Spacious Old Building with Friendly Landlords

Pros

HUGE apartments. Biggest I've seen in NYC. Landlord is generally quite accommodating. Very central location.

Cons

Building is old. Floor is pretty drastically slanted, as are the stairs on the walk up. Central location means very noisy facing 2nd Ave.

Advice to the owners

Barring some MAJOR rennovations and maybe some new appliances, this apt is is pretty good shape.
