Could be worse
Former Tenant
Pros:
Functional building on a quiet street. Down the block from a beautiful community garden
Cons:
Debris from the facade is all over the yard. We dealt with a mouse problem on and off over the course of a year.
Good luck getting the landlord to fix anything. He’ll ignore your messages for weeks and then call you at a random time of the day and accuse you of never answering your phone.
Upstairs neighbors kept moving furniture in the middle of the night? Weird and annoying
Advice to owner:
Answer your phone!

Nice street. Okay enough building .
Former Tenant
Pros:
The heat works really well. Overall the apartment is mostly functional albeit small
Cons:
The apartment itself is very small, and (if you’re in the basement), the windows face brick walls. We had a recurring mouse problem for multiple years. Landlord is very absent and hard to get ahold of when you need to reach him, but on the rare occasion he reaches out to you, everything is rushed and urgent. Cabinets are falling apart. It’s also the least attractive building on the street, because there hasn’t been much maintenance and the area where you could have a garden is trashed.

Rude and Absent Landlord, Terrible Building
Former Tenant
Pros:
The front stoop is nice to sit on in the summer
Cons:
Cockroaches, the plumbing is absolutely ruined and no one will fix it, the toilet runs and no one will fix it, all the lights have burnt out and the covers do not come off to change the bulbs, landlord will go weeks without responding, the entry way has rats and is always a disaster, the garden is over grown by weeds, the radiators aren’t adjustable, cabinets are falling off the walls
Advice to owner:
Respond to tenants, fix the problems with every unit, and don’t say you’re going to fix it and then ignore every message.
