Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant reviews of buildings managed by DAVID EISENSTEIN REAL ESTATE reveal a mixed management reputation. While some buildings, particularly well-maintained and renovated units, boast cleanliness, updated amenities, and friendly neighbors, many renters report significant issues. Common complaints include slow, unresponsive management, persistent pest problems, ongoing disruptive construction, and inadequate maintenance causing safety concerns. Rent increases have been a source of frustration, especially when coupled with deteriorating conditions. Quality varies widely among properties, with some tenants praising community atmospheres and others describing neglect and poor upkeep. Prospective renters should weigh the potential for renewed units against inconsistent management and service quality.

Great UWS Ap

Pros

Really nice renovated units in a great location that really has everything you could need and easy access to the rest of the city.

Cons

Management was slow to respond or fully unresponsive. It could be loud and there was not a lot of natural light.

Loved this apartment - ruined by terrible property management group

Pros

Location Tree outside windows (street-facing) Heat included

Cons

The building went downhill FAST after being purchased by Eisenstein Realty. Constant construction, dirty hallways and garbage area, pests, collapsing walls/ceilings, rats in the walls, incredibly slow or no action to address issues or repairs - oh, and rent increases several hundred dollars a year (at least) while the building/unit got more and more run down. Sad because I would have lived here as long as I could, under the old owner who wasn’t anything special but at least was basically invested in the upkeep of his property and fixing things like leaks before they destroyed walls. Landlord engaged in conduct in violation of NYC rental laws.
