Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for Equity Management properties frequently cites poor building maintenance, with common issues including pest infestations, persistent water leaks, malfunctioning heating systems, and unclean common areas. Many renters report slow or unresponsive management when addressing repair requests and communication gaps. While some locations offer convenient neighbors and decent water pressure, the general sentiment highlights neglected infrastructure, aggressive or rude landlord behavior, and unreliable building upkeep. A few tenants note positive aspects like responsive management in select buildings and good neighborhood surroundings, but widespread dissatisfaction suggests caution, especially regarding long-term upkeep and pest control responsiveness.

Wouldn’t live there again

Pros

Was extremely close to where I worked, and had many grocery stores nearby (Food Bazaar, Bravo, Food Basket). There is a citibike dock that’s filled in the morning right outside. That’s where it ends.

Cons

Building decaying….water leaks everytime it rains, heaters not working in freezing weather but cranked up all the way in summer making apartment over 100° and management doesn’t respond to fix it. Utility bills skyrocket above $250 a month. The stairs are literally crumbling and hallways smell like smoke. The street outside is super loud, and the trains nearby are not good unless you work in midtown.
