Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews of buildings managed by Malcolm Punter reveal a mixed management experience. Tenants generally appreciate the attentiveness of supers and the sense of community in some buildings, along with cleanliness in common areas. However, there are recurring complaints about slow or unresponsive management, especially regarding maintenance and pest control issues. Heating problems and noise disturbances are notable concerns, alongside occasional outdated apartment conditions. Garbage handling is usually satisfactory, but rat infestations have been reported in a few locations. Overall, while some tenants recommend staying due to friendly neighbors and affordable rent, improved responsiveness and infrastructure upkeep would enhance tenant satisfaction.

Has it's pros & cons

Pros

Rent is cheap. On the first floor, at least, the walls are not thin & really didn't hear upstairs neighbors. People on block have lived her for a long time and there is a sense of real community.

Cons

The block is crazy loud in the summer. Be prepared to be up till 4 or 5 AM. Even in the fall and spring people are outside talking loud or playing music at like 8 AM on the weekends. Management is practically unresponsive. However, as of this update I think the management company has changed.

Advice to the owners

Maintain the building properly. Get rid of the rat problem outside. The whole block is being overrun by rats. Get a better management company and better contractors.
