Review Summary for Eric Geller
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent tenant feedback on ERIC GELLER-managed buildings reveals a mixed experience. Some residents report responsive management and well-maintained common areas, appreciating decent trash management and a generally decent living environment. However, there are notable complaints about unaddressed maintenance issues such as faulty heating, broken fixtures, poor pest control, and unreliable laundry facilities. Cleanliness and neighborhood conditions vary significantly between buildings, impacting tenant satisfaction. Several renters express frustration over slow or inadequate owner responsiveness regarding health, safety, and building repairs. Prospective tenants should weigh these inconsistencies carefully, as management seems attentive in some cases but neglectful in others.

Co-managed building - avoid at ALL costs
Former Tenant
Pros:
Genuinely don't know if there are any. Pay a little more and move somewhere better
Cons:
You're not in the nice part of Bushwick: the neighborhood is filthy and people in the area have absolutely no respect for their neighborhood (trash/litter/dog shit everywhere). There are five active DOB Class I violations on the building, property manager is completely unresponsive, laundry under a DOB cease use order for three years (but still advertised on the basis that it works). I could go on and on
Advice to owner:
Burn the building down and start afresh

It was fine
Former Tenant
Pros:
Standard apartment with windows in all rooms
Cons:
A little dark

Faulty heat, rickety kitchen/bathroom, mgmt doesn't care about fixing issues
Former Tenant
Pros:
Management returned my full security deposit promptly.
Cons:
1. I had problems with the heat in my room in the winter - it was consistently cold in January/February. Management ordered a space heater for me to use and offered nothing else. Blamed me for leaving the window open (it was closed). Didn't offer to pay a portion of my high electric bill, despite the fact that it shot up because of the space heater.

2. Things would fall off/separate/break randomly. The bathroom door handle fell off so often that we just left it off. The metal sink basin was separated from the counter, so food scraps fell into the under-sink cabinet and led to mold. My bedroom door locked randomly, which meant that my kitten was locked in my room and I couldn't get to her unless I picked the lock.
Advice to owner:
Don't put a Band-Aid on real issues regarding the health and safety of your residents and expect no complaints.

A decent place to live
Former Tenant
Pros:
-generally responsive landlord
-well maintained hallways
-trash was managed
Cons:
Overall I didn’t really have any issues with this building. The only annoying thing was that the washer and dryer for the building didn’t work for most of the time I lived there but it was a well maintained building overall.
