great location and building

Pros:
cute size apartment building, not too many neighbors.
Cons:
radiators are not evenly placed through apartments so living room is without heat.

NIGHTMARE, roaches everywhere

Cons:
Infested with cockroaches. We had them crawling over us in the summer and contacted management multiple times. The exterminator came and had us throw out all food and we got no reimbursement and we asked to be let out of our lease or get reimbursed for it because it was simply unlivable.
Advice to owner:
Get rid of the roaches and respond to tenants

Dishwashers in the apt, super is lovely person, location is hard to beat, I love the exposed brick
Cons:
Bathroom ceiling sometimes leaks, you can hear people going up and down the (pretty steep) stairs, a lot of the windows just have a view of a wall. There's a parking garage facing the bedroom windows so blackout curtains are a must.
Advice to owner:
It's a pretty limited demographic that can comfortably live in this building (able-bodied folks in their 20s and 30s). This isn't a good building for families, the elderly, or people with disabilities. Given that I'm part of your ideal building demographic, I think you should consider keeping your rent as low as possible--let the youngins stay here comfortably for a few years without charging exorbitant rates.

Not bad for a first apartment

- rent relatively cheap for the area - very central, albeit maybe too central for some because of proximity to port and tsq - everything you need is in the surrounding area
Cons:
- not the cleanest - heat didn’t always work - no elevator and steep staircases - bit of a pest problem
Advice to owner:
- upgrade the building when you can and try to control pests better
