Beautiful building, unresponsive corporate landlord
Pros
Building is a palatial pre-war building on a beautiful tree-lined Clinton Hill block, steps from the G train. Apartment is large!
Cons
From move-in onward, it was a chore to get management to attend to standard maintenance items--everything from lead testing chipping paint (for kid residents) to the buzzer system not working to the heating not working properly—the list goes on. We've lived in Brooklyn prewar buildings since the 2000s and get that they require fairly regular and sometimes considerable upkeep; it's not that repairs were needed at this unit, it's the sluggish and poor response of the building and its management that disappointed us.
Advice to the owners
a huge, beautiful historic building requires far more maintenance than the one live-in repair person can provide or sub-contract; management office staff should understand that their job is respond to maintenance requests from tenants rather than ignore them

Pros
You should stay away, there is not a pro. Best I can give is there’s a downstairs laundry area but you will run into roaches every time.
Cons
Does not do repairs in time. Needed a replacement for the dishwasher that was not installed for over a year. For 2 and a half years the electrical system for letting people into your apartment from downstairs was broken. Had to physically go down each time to let someone in which was extremely hard for my older family members. Although the apartment knew this they selectively chose some people to get the new electrical system earlier than others. Our apartment didn’t get fixed for 2 and a half years. Roaches and pests not addressed in a timely fashion. No where near worth the value of the apartment. Stay away!
Advice to the owners
Respond to requests to fix the apartment or address pests in a timely fashion or give people months off rent. In short learn to do your job!
