MICE AND ROACHES
Pros
Rent was cheaper than usual. Large apartment with natural light. Near L'Industrie and subway lines.
Cons
I couldn't use my kitchen because it was infested with roaches, with no end in sight. Even with an exterminator coming every month, it was still a problem. There are also mice that live in the walls, and the first week of moving in, 3 mice entered my apartment. The pipes are LOUD, and I had to sleep in a smaller room. My landlord wouldn't return my security deposit until I threatened to sue. One month the boiler stopped working, and we had no heat the whole time.

Close proximity to prime Williamsburg spots and nice neighbors on the street
Cons
Cockroach problem on 1st floor. Building door was often broken and left that way for weeks. Difficult to get apartment damage repaired.
Advice to the owners
Increase pest control and maintain entry better
