Incredible area, horrible management

Pros

The people in the building and the block are incredible- there is a true sense of community. It's also half a block from the subway and only ten minutes to prospect park.

Cons

Management is HORRIFIC. They cheaped out on a pipe (probably saved a few hundred), and it exploded during the winter TWICE, flooding the entire building and causing hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage. They will always do the absolute cheapest thing to fix a problem (if they agree to fix at all), that inevitable kicks the can down the road rather than actually fixing it. There's also no AC or heat anywhere but the individual units so extreme heat and cold are felt hard in the hallways and basement. After the floods mold remediation was not completed and there is black mold behind the walls (Of a brand new building! Such a shame!)

Advice to the owners

You may never live there, and therefore can't be bothered to care. But incredible people and at risk seniors do live there, and if you can't be bothered to care when the building is flooded, without heat, without an elevator, or full of mold for the safety of tenants paying thousands a month, you are in the wrong business.
