Good First NYC Apartment

Pros

Small building No bugs Relatively quiet. Roof top bar can sometimes hear on Saturdays during Brunch hours

Super could do better with overall responsiveness and keeping front area clean No laundry on site

Good NYC builidng

Pros

Affordability (relative), very close proximity to subway, grocery stores, parks. Building is small and tenants tend to stay for a while; neighbors are all very nice.

Cons

Roaches in the summer, not many but there have been a few and Super did not follow up when I requested an exterminator. An exterminator only came once this past year. Super was pretty responsive for all other maintenance issues though.
