Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant reviews of buildings managed by David Tennenbaum indicate mixed experiences. While tenants appreciate certain aspects such as decent cleanliness, good noise control, and rent-stabilized units with nice neighbors, they express concerns about unresponsive and challenging management practices. Issues include limited contact with landlords, delayed or insufficient repairs, and pest control problems. Some tenants raise alarm about new management being negligent and uncooperative. Recommendations highlight the need for better maintenance practices, improved communication channels, and proactive management involvement to enhance overall living conditions for tenants.

Decent building, bad management

Pros

Nice neighbors and good noise control between floors, the super is nice and does his best. Some rent stabilized apartments is a great price and good amenities for the area.

Cons

The management is incredibly unresponsive and is essentially a shadow company for another enormous landlord. If you care about a relationship with your landlord, this is not the building for you.

Landlord special on repairs

Pros

My unit is rent stabilized, public areas are bright/seem safe, never had a package stolen

Cons

The super is nice enough and always available since he lives in the building, but any repairs are usually just slapping some plaster or paint over the problem (he's told me he has trouble getting reimbursed for things he fixes from the management company). The heat only works between 3 AM and 3PM (Freezing when you go to bed), cig smoke smell in entrance more often than not. The management company has no phone number and can only be contacted through a 200 character limited submission form
