Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant reviews for buildings managed by Scott Metzner reveal a mix of positives and challenges. Many tenants commend the cleanliness and security, as well as the responsiveness of the superintendents, who are often described as helpful and attentive. However, heat issues and noise problems from neighbors and street activity are recurrent concerns, with some calls for improved insulation and quieter tenants. Pest control is variable, with some buildings facing rat problems linked more to the neighborhood. Garbage management and maintenance responsiveness receive mixed feedback, with requests for quicker responses and better management of common areas. Safety and building upkeep improvements, such as security cameras and reliable staff, are suggested to enhance tenant satisfaction.

Quiet & Secure

Pros

Quiet and secure. Super was responsive.

Cons

Getting security deposit back was challenging. If they saw 1 nail, they wanted it removed and patched. Did eventually get it back , but took time.

Great place to live

Pros

Building super, neighbors, rent controlled, clean common spaces, great location near the park and train, large apartments.

Cons

The whole area has a rat problem, so I can't blame the owners and super. The super tries his best, but it is really the city's problem. The street can get loud because of the hotel on the corner, but that's part of living in NYC. There are always cops around.
