Pretty barebones living
Pros
Rent stabilized and the super is great. The area isn’t the most exciting a few blocks around but the garden is always nice
Cons
Neighbors are pretty loud and inconsiderate and the pest control isn’t great. Landlord is a bit shady and there are zero amenities if you’re not in a renovated unit

Update more than legally required

Cons
The owners just want money and try to dismiss every legitimate problem that comes up. The old owner, Mr. Fox, was very kind and professional. His son-in-law, Ben, seems kind of mentally slow and just wants money above all else. Building is not updated. It’s very dark on the inside and you will see lots of mice and roaches in your apartment. There are also BAD neighbors in this building. Non-stop screaming, floor/ceiling-shaking fistfights, smoking in the stairwell and lobby, the list goes on. Given that they’re charging $2300+ to live here, it’s shocking how little attention is paid to making it a comfortable place to live.
Advice to the owners
Do your job, update the old, disgusting apartments whenever possible (build new walls and add insulation), pay your super a fair salary for all the hard work that he does.
