Great apartment and building, unresponsive landlord

Pros

The apartments themselves and tenants are great, the building is very well maintained and the super was very responsive. I had no actual building issues while living here.

Cons

The building managers and owners are COMPLETELY unresponsive, I quite literally never received one single communication or response from them via phone, mail, or email in my time living there. I moved out months ago and they have yet to return my security deposit and respond to me, at this point I'm taking it to small claims court. It's important to know that this location is LOUD. There are block parties in the summer that quite literally shake the walls, and many nights of the week there is loud music coming from across the street and police sirens moving double parked cars. If you're okay with this it's a great spot to be in, it's a busy block in Harlem so it's to be expected, but even as a New Yorker with high tolerance for noise I actually found this to be too much for me.

Advice to the owners

Answer your phone and emails and do basic communication with tenants. Set up online rent payments. Return security deposits as legally required.
