unresponsive landlords/building managers
Former Tenant
Pros:
our apartment is recently renovated & decent, we have new appliances, & we love our unit
Cons:
the entire building outside our place is dirty. the stairs are NEVER cleaned, the light outside has been broken for months. the hot water only gets hot 3 months out of the year and the rest of the time it’s room temperature AT BEST. (and that’s if you get water out of the shower at all). but the worst is the landlord. we reached out to our one contact, M, to inquire about the heat/hot water situation and they blocked us. stopped responded & has not responded to us about different inquires since then, it’s been like 6 months. and there is no contact info for anyone else on any of our info/website. before you sign here make sure you get numbers for at least 2 other people because other people in the building have also been blocked by M as well. Also my neighbors keep stealing my packages🙃

Nice-ish building with unresponsive management and occasional hot water issues.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Code or key entry into building. Relatively quiet. Updated new appliances. Helpful super. Can't hear other apartments.
Cons:
Occasional mouse sighting. Hot water issues in winter. Heat was unreliable.
Advice to owner:
Communicate better with tenants!

Has Great Potential
Former Tenant
Pros:
Pretty updated apartment, decent layout. convenient area. pretty quiet neighborhood. Somewhat Helpful super.
Cons:
Some rude neighbors who continuously stomp even when asked if they could stop they became very rude and continues. Building has to do a better job of upkeep. Outdated ways of paying rent, we still have to mail checks. No laundry room even though we were told their was. weed smoking being done by neighbors in lobby of building and can smell it in your home.
Advice to owner:
Update the way rent is paid. via online like most properties today. Better upkeep of building and better security camera to deter people from hanging in lobby.

Fine but not great
Former Tenant
Pros:
- spacious unit
- relatively convenient
- modern appliances
- affordable
Cons:
- told us there would be laundry in the building, but it is non-functional and has not been in service for at least a couple of years
- building manager is pretty non-responsive
- heat was not turned on consistently
- floorboards were put in cheaply and there are holes
- water was cold for a few weeks in the winter and did not get resolved until persistent messages were sent to super
