Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant reviews of buildings managed by Rick Gropper reveal significant challenges in maintenance and responsiveness. While some properties feature spacious apartments, laundry facilities, and attentive supers, many buildings suffer from poor cleanliness, pest infestations, inconsistent heating, and neglected repairs. Garbage management is often inadequate, and the presence of loitering and noise disturbances detracts from the living experience. Although a few tenants note improvements under newer management at select locations, the overall sentiment points to unaddressed maintenance issues and slow owner response, causing dissatisfaction and calls for better property upkeep and tenant communication.

Reviews

Could be better

Pros

amenities like a laundry room and elevators, balconies, low rent, tenant association

Cons

Not as clean as it should be, issues with insufficient heat every year I was there, old-looking lobby, grassy areas outside were barely maintained, and neglected/unrenovated apartments

Former tenant·9 months ago

Good building, lots of loitering

Pros

New management definitely cares about the appearance of the building, throwing out the trash and maintaining garbage rooms. Large balconies

Cons

Bunch of loitering on front of the building. People constantly playing music, and smoking .

Advice to the owners

Prohibit loitering from people in front of the building
