Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for Cheryl Ighodaro's buildings presents a mixed picture. While some residents appreciate affordable rent, quiet environments, and friendly neighbors, management responsiveness is frequently criticized as slow or unhelpful. Cleanliness and pest control are inconsistent, with some buildings well-maintained and others suffering neglect. Garbage management generally rates better, but tenant communication and staff attentiveness often fall short, causing frustration. Noise disturbances and problematic neighbors occasionally affect the living experience. Overall, renters can expect variable building upkeep and management effectiveness, with significant room for improvement in owner responsiveness and tenant relations.

Pros

The best thing about residing at 214 is the welcoming and amicable neighbors, fostering a genuine sense of community living where we strive to coexist harmoniously.

Cons

It's nearly impossible to reach anyone at the rental office by phone, and when you do, they are impolite and unhelpful. The building superintendent shows little concern for the property, neglecting regular cleaning and maintenance, resulting in a lack of cleanliness both within and around the building. The porters and superintendent seem to lack the necessary expertise to effectively address maintenance issues, often resulting in their attempted fixes leading to further breakdowns.

Advice to the owners

I suggest that the property owner prioritize better treatment of the tenants. Encourage the porters to demonstrate a stronger sense of community by treating the property as if they themselves lived there. Additionally, consider implementing security cameras and ensuring that the staff are adequately motivated and not overburdened with work.
