Glad People are Finally Speaking Up

Pros

Location and that be all.

Cons

Almost every apartment is being sublet to like 10-15 different people. Like ya’ll this ain’t what I signed up for. Everyday other people be sneaking out at night- my neighbor opened their door once and I saw it, like 10 mattresses be laid out across the floor. I didn’t believe when other neighbors here be telling me this been going on… How does the super now know when he be coming in to do repairs??? How does management not know??? They not be wonderin why the increase in water bills? Why they be strange people every couple days in n out? Why the increase thefts in the building? Who even knows who they be bringing up in here, could be criminals they be hiding. I’m tellin you this building is messed up big time. Lucky if you get a unit next to some decent people which are very few and they be suffering here too and gonna leave. Ain’t be no one good left up in here after the nice folks get fed up and move. Y’all better find yourself a better place- I am too.

Advice to the owners

Be aware that most of your units are being sublet they be running a hostel in their apartments and you turn a blind eye. Not safe not ok and illegal.

More of a Hostel than an apartment Building

Pros

The custodian who takes out the garbage is very respectful and friendly. Laundry in lobby.

Cons

Be warned this building is a hostel…new tenants coming and going you never know who you’re really living next to. I always see strange people using the laundry machines. I got new remnants across from me 3 times in 1 year. In the 8 years I’ve been here, my kids get on to their school bus reeking of cigarettes from the countless of smokers in the building who stand outside or at the door to smoke. In this building most of the people don’t work during the day and can be seen standing and smoking at all hours. No where to put my childrens bikes besides the creepy basement that is not really for building use. I have been here 8 years and seen all the loyal tenants jet out of here. This building is not safe, landlord also does not care about any of tenants complaints brushes them off and says he’s “taking care of it” nothing ha been taken care of. Landlord is a crook always threatening people if you make any small request like a request for fios or painting something which was destroyed (due to the low quality paint they use in all apartments). The super is a money machine, instead of doing his job as a super he always requires a hefty tip that it would be cheaper if I hired a handyman to come fix my problem. He’s also never available, I was waiting on them to paint my bathtub for over a year (post pandemic) he never showed up and I already moved out thankfully to a new home. So happy to get out of there. If your saving up for a family house and need an apartment to stay….go elsewhere, the amount of out of pocket expenses you’ll be liable for (to add to the hostile neighbors and hostel like environment) will leaving you regretting your choice to live here. We are dipping into savings to pay for our mortgage 2 years earlier than planned but happy to be out of that building, my kids can now ride the school bus without smelling like cigarette smoke.

Advice to the owners

You are a horrible human being, I’ve dealt with you for 8 years and your pet the super, not once did you abide by the law or treat us with any basic respect owed to a human being. Sheer disrespect.
