Called it home for years, gone downhill lately.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Electricity included in rent! Great location for the crosstown and express busses. (M79+ and M15+) Entrance is clean and nice. Elevator and laundry in the building is a plus. Packages can be buzzed into the safety of the lobby by your phone. The building is not a terrible place to live, but it could certainly be better.
Cons:
Biggest problem is now mice. They became an issue starting in 2018 construction around the building made it worse. They do have a regular exterminator come, but they just drop poison. They do not take the time to plug holes. General repairs take a week to a month if it's not an emergency. Every year during the winter 2 to 4 times a year the boiler will go out throughout the night and you won't have hot water for a few hours until later in the day. (Update: 7/2022 the mice infestation is no longer a problem because construction has stopped and management finally added basement mice traps)
Advice to owner:
It's a good enough place to live but it could be a great place to live.

Good starter apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
Closet space, laundry in building, thick walls so quiet, elevator plus stairs
Cons:
Lack of natural light, age of building and fixtures, super responsiveness at times, kitchen, lack of outlets, occasional infestation if bad neighbor
