Review Summary for 264 East 2 Street
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews for 264 East 2 Street, Manhattan, NY 10009, reflect a mixed experience. The building enjoys a prime East Village location with good natural light, quiet neighbors (especially on lower floors), and responsive management who attend promptly to repairs and building maintenance. Frequent cleaning and security measures like locked package cages are appreciated. However, tenants report persistent issues with pests, noise due to nearby construction, and occasional package theft. Move-out processes and landlord-tenant interactions are contentious, with some renters citing withheld deposits and poor management communication. Rent stabilization varies per unit, and some advise future tenants to understand their rights thoroughly.

Not a bad building and neighbors, just one bad tenant
Former Tenant
Pros:
Fairly quiet neighborhood and neighbors on lower floors (2025), but overall definitely a younger crowd that lives in building so Fri & Sat night be prepared to hear them.
Building is well maintained enough
Cons:
2025 specific, new building construction adjacent
Can hear through door very easily
Noticed comments regarding landlord and building management which I can’t really say too much didn’t really interact too much with them.
Specific issue to one apt/tenant on second floor who is renting his rent stabilized apt and overcharging, beware.
Advice to owner:
Kick out tenant in 2nd floor, you know which one
