Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews of 530 East 13 Street underscore the building’s excellent location near amenities like Trader Joe's, Target, and the L train, making it ideal for students and young professionals. Residents find management generally responsive and neighbors friendly. Common positives include good natural light and quiet surroundings with some nightlife. However, recurring issues like inadequate air conditioning, pest infestations (especially mice and occasional cockroaches), and garbage area cleanliness detract from the experience. Heating is mostly reliable but can be inconsistent. Overall, while the building offers solid value and convenience, improved pest control and maintenance of common areas would significantly enhance tenant satisfaction.

Limited space but great location
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, very responsive management for issues and repairs. Plenty to do in the area, Trader Joe's and Target just a block up, and very close to the L train. Not very spacious, but if you're looking for something while you're in college/don't need much space, this gets the job done.
Cons:
The rooms get very hot in the warmer months because there's no A/C, and the walls are quite thin. There's not enough room for a table in the kitchen, but that's Manhattan apartments in general.
