Cute building but roaches
Pros
It was cute and in a convenient neighborhood
Cons
The exterminators could never get rid of the cockroaches so we eventually left.
Advice to the owners
Fumigate the building.
If I could do it all over again, I would not have moved here.
Pros
The apt is super cute and about enough space for 1 person. 2 people might have a hard time living here, depending on how much stuff you have. Good light and this unit faces the back with views of midtown. The kitchen is fairly new with a dishwasher. The building is right in the middle of everything and next to really great trains / buses / etc.
Cons
The mgmt company is somewhat responsive but there are chronic issues with the boiler. The building managers seem to all be young men in their 20s - they don't yet know how to talk to people. They will text all day long and then fail to update you once something is fixed. I just moved into this building 11 days ago - 9 of which I haven't had hot water (and therefore not heat as well). When I first moved in I was missing a key to the front door of the building, the dishwasher didn't have water going into it, the microwave was not working properly (which was scary), and it was clearly not cleaned or painted. They had done just enough to get by - my first red flag. After 11 days of texting, calling, and emailing: they've had to fix the boiler three times. They did fix the dishwasher but no word on the microwave. I received the key to front door of the building a week after I moved in. Building managers are rarely available outside of office hours (the lease specifically says to reach out to them outside of M-F 9-5). I also paid a realtor fee to move here. Needless to say I have little faith in this building now or this mgmt company. I will be steering clear of the realty company in the future as well.
Advice to the owners
Train your building managers to not tell tenants that they "have 100s of buildings, all with the same problems." That doesn't make them sound busy - it makes them sound ineffective.
