Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews emphasize the superb location of 117 Perry Street, Manhattan, with positive mentions of cleanliness, heat, and neighbor quality. However, consistent complaints point to unresponsive and unsympathetic management, especially regarding rent raises and lack of tenant concern. While some tenants appreciate the well-priced deals and maintenance staff, issues such as construction mishaps and recurring rent increments pose challenges. Suggestions include more humane rent adjustments and an improved approach to tenant relations. Despite the drawbacks, the building's desirable attributes and neighborhood allure make it a mixed but potentially rewarding living option.

Management is unkind
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location is great, if you have no issues and don’t have to deal with management it’s a great place to livr
Cons:
The management is full of con artists who will steal your brokers fee and have their lawyers contact you if you have any issues

Beautiful, super small, super expensive
Former Tenant
Pros:
Amazing neighborhood, clean apartment on move-in, lots of natural light on the upper floors
Cons:
William Gottlieb is a massive management company that doesn’t care at all about individual tenants. They’re incentivized to do the bare minimum, and in a neighborhood like the WV there are tenants willing to pay astronomical rates so they don’t care if you’re disappointed. Our rent went up by over 50% after the first year—we knew it was a COVID deal that wouldn’t last but didn’t expect to pay over $1,500 more per month for the second year. Enjoy it while you have it!
Advice to owner:
Be more humane with rent raises
