This building is NOT habitable - avoid at all costs!
Pros
I can not recommend this building LESS. That being said, the street is super cute, in a good location with easy access to the best parts of Chelsea. My unit had amazing natural light.
Cons
Avoid this building at all costs! There are MAJOR plumbing issues in this building, and the building manager, who provides zero help whatsoever, is the rudest person I have ever interacted with. On multiple occasions, I came home to really, really disgusting sewage all over my floor. (Picture this happening when you expect to be able to shower the morning of a big meeting at work, and you suddenly cannot. Or, when you’ve invited a new friend or person you are dating over for the first time. Yeah, not fun.) On multiple occasions, there was no hot water (completely ice cold), or no running water at all, with zero notice. When this happened, the building manager refused any sort of rate abatement or quick fix, and would tell me to “stay with a friend for a few days.” Having no running water or access to any sort of bathroom (because you can’t get past the sewage on the floor without professional waste cleaners) for long periods of time is not worth the cute apartment and neighborhood. Unless you can make do with a chamber pot and bottled water on a regular basis, do not even think about living here.
Advice to the owners
Provide a habitable apartment for tenants. Do not bully tenants.
