Meh place. Not a long-term living situation.
Former Tenant
Pros:
It is close to public transportation and Pier 66 for some scenery. We had pleasant and quiet neighbors. The location is ideal for students who go to FIT.
Cons:
The hallway would have an on-and-off smell. There's no laundry in the building, and the nearest laundromat is a 15 minute walk one way (so 30 minutes roundtrip). Also, no mailroom, so everything would be dumped in the walkway and get dirty, and there's always a chance you might not receive letters/packages. Lastly, the heat issue took a long time to finally be resolved. Proper wall units were installed in February, so we went through about two months of pretty extreme cold. We were only provided 2 spaceheaters, so it really cranked up our electric bill.
