Review Summary for 1650 3 Avenue
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews for 1650 3 Avenue, Manhattan, highlight the building’s desirable location, spacious and bright apartments, and warm heating as major advantages. Tenants appreciate friendly neighbors and responsive superintendents who work hard to maintain the building. However, persistent issues include inadequate overall cleanliness, poor garbage management with trash often stored in the lobby causing odors and attracting pests, notably roaches. Noise from street-facing units can be noticeable, and occasional hot water outages have been reported. Rent increases appear reasonable for market-rate units. Overall, renters value the space and community but advise improved cleaning and proper waste handling to enhance living conditions.

This apartment will be missed forever
Former Tenant
Pros:
I really loved the layout of the apartment, it was also very bright , the wood floor is new and shiny . The heat was never a problem and the apartment was always warm during the coldest months !
There was enough space to store a lot of things .the súper was pretty responsive . And I really loved the neighbors. The price was amazing for the space and the location
Cons:
The cons was the absence of the elevator .
The stairs was not cleaned properly
And the garbage was stored in the lobby
Advice to owner:
More cleaning

Not a clean building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Neighbors are kind, apartments are a good size
Cons:
This is not a clean building. The garbage is kept in the lobby of the building, so 1) the building consistently smelling like garbage (especially in the summer right now, it is extremely smelly) and 2) this exacerbates the roach problem in the building. Even if you are a clean tenant and able to maintain your own unit, this building has a bad bug problem due to the garbage and certain units clearly not being taken care of. Monthly exterminator visits are clearly not enough. Management shrugs their shoulders and say's "It's NYC!" In all my time in the city, this is the worst building I've lived in.
Advice to owner:
ACTUALLY take care of the bug problem. Garbage should be stored OUTSIDE.
